Drunk directors, Brixham and flat batteries.

Day 49
21/7/12

As we are in the middle of our run/local tour for the play I am in, we decided to make a mocumentary based on our characters in the play, and improvised interviews to camera, and basic scenes which was much fun. Here is our director Ash Bayliss clutching to a bottle of gin like it's an unclaimed winning Euro millons ticket. Thing is, none of us actors are completely sure if he is in fact joking, or an actual raging alcy.

Day 50
22/7/12

Brixham, Devon.

Becky said to me that she had a fun day planned as a suprise, and that we were picking up a mystery guest en route. Straight away I knew/got out of her where we were going. I don't like suprises really, I am too impatient.

Back old the old stomping ground, we had Devon cream tea, a paddle in the channel (which was cold. Very cold. The last sea I was in was the gulf of Thailand, and have experienced colder water come out of a boiling kettle. Thai seas are the best.), and a trip to see some old entertainers who still do the job we left in 2009. One season as an entertainer is enough for anyone!

I managed to create some cool HDR shots of the beaches, and also had an impromptu photo shoot with Becky, and mystery guest musician Ross Chaplain - Ross wants to create some images for some songs he has written to accompany a live set later this year. We shot some images that centred around love, trust, care, safety, security and fun. Whether they'll be used or not remains to be seen, but I like playing director!

Here are some of the shots from last Sunday 22nd July.

St Mary's Bay, Berry Head - Brixham (4 shots at different exposure in HDR)

Same place as above, I mounted my camera on the rocks, and kept one eye on the encroaching tide. (3 shots at different exposures). I loved the vivid blues and greens at the time of the shot.
The Breakwater Beach, a bit more touristy, so got a few strange looks, when it looked as if I was dipping my camera in the sea, but I was mounting it on a collection of stones and rocks. (3 different exposures.
Very low perspective on this one, making the sea look further than what it actually was. Sigma 10-20mm at f11, at 7 different exposures.

Now here are some shots for Ross Chaplain's project... Watch this space!

Day 53
22/7/12

Annoying.

Lesson learned. On Sunday in Brixham, I got so tired of turning my camera back on as it has an auto power save afer 30 seconds, which I turned on, and left my camera on. Tonight, I went to my local church to photograph it in all it's grandeur at sunset when to my disappointment I realised I had no power after setting up my tripod and finding the perfect shot. I did manage to take a few snaps on Instagram, but now I know I must ALWAYS charge up straight after use! Let that be a lesson to you all. Glad I was just annoyed than professionally embarrassed!
